Key Responsibilities
The Nutritionist will be responsible for developing and validating nutritional profiles of food products, supporting product innovation through scientific research, ensuring compliance with food safety standards, and contributing to both quality assurance and R&D processes within the FMCG sector.
Job Description:
- Collaborate with R&D teams to develop nutritionally balanced and innovative food products that align with market trends and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct nutritional analysis and determine the nutrient composition of existing and new products.
- Review and recommend ingredients and functional claims to support product innovation.
- Ensure accurate preparation of nutrition labels in compliance with FDA and regional food regulations.
- Prepare and validate nutritional claims (e.g., low-fat, high-fiber, sugar-free) and support product registration documentation.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and update teams on changes to nutrition and labeling standards.
- Work closely with the QA team to assess the nutritional integrity of products throughout production and shelf life.
- Monitor raw material nutrition data, ensuring supplier specifications meet product and safety requirements.
- Participate in FSSC, ISO 22000 and HACCP other quality system audits focusing on nutritional and allergen information.
- Provide technical support to Marketing and Sales teams on consumer-facing nutritional communication and health claims.
- Maintain a database of nutritional values, allergen info, and ingredient specifications.
- Provide monthly reports on nutritional quality improvements and suggest adjustments in formulations where necessary.
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Food Science, Nutrition or related field.
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in FMCG or food manufacturing industry preferred.
- Strong knowledge of nutrition labeling laws, FDA standards, and food regulations.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail in formulation and labeling.
- Proficient in MS Excel, Nutrition Analysis Software, and basic lab testing tools.
